Snorkel Safaris in St. Maarten is one of my favorite cruise ship excursions.
The friendly staff greet you on the cruise terminal pier and take you on a short ten-minute boat ride over to what we have come to refer to as Tiki Hut Island.
With it’s incredibly inviting deep-blue water and relaxing atmosphere, it’s a place you will want to spend the entire day.
While I believe the excursion description detailed a 4-hour excursion, they actually let you hang-out all day. They even took my associate back to the cruise ship to fetch my camera batteries.
The food was good, the Heinekens were cold, and the prices were reasonable.
Once you arrive there is a brief snorkeling orientation for people new to snorkeling on the 4′ submerged deck. Then it’s off to discover the sunken submarine and sea creatures below.

Para-sailing is also available. Just ask the bartender and the boat will arrive to pick you up.
